About Us
We are a youth-driven non-profit organization based in Ontario, Canada, united by our passion for beekeeping, pollinators, and sustainable gardening. Our team—ranging from seasoned experts to budding enthusiasts—is dedicated to using our knowledge and skills to empower local communities. By increasing pollinator populations and transforming underutilized urban spaces into thriving, self-sustaining ecosystems, we aim to create greener, more environmentally friendly neighborhoods. Through education, hands-on initiatives, and community engagement, we strive to foster a future where people and pollinators thrive together.
Who We Are
Sofia Spinu: Founder of Echo Bees
Sofia is a high school student, a young beekeeper, a musician and a devoted activist for pollinator preservation. Growing up with pets, farm animals and honey bees, all within the proximity of a forest, she developed a strong connection with nature, which inspired her to fight for environmental rights, pollinator preservation in particular. After years of hard work in the apiary and study, she obtained the pollinator steward and sustainable development certificates. All these, combined with years of hands-on experience, contributed to her becoming a young expert in pollinators and their habitat. In her spare time, she makes music with her siblings or plays with them and her pets in the forest

Our Mission
We collaborate with municipalities, land owners, and environmental organizations to transform underutilized urban spaces into vibrant pollinator-friendly gardens and thriving community vegetable gardens. By integrating bee hives on green rooftops and cultivating new gardens, we create ecosystems that nourish both pollinators and the local community. Our team handles the installation and ongoing maintenance of the bee hives while actively engaging the community in the garden’s creation, guided by local experts. Through this initiative, we foster biodiversity, strengthen local food systems, and inspire environmental stewardship.
